Who can participate?Contributors must be 18+, no exceptions. It is suggested that contributors have completed Dawntrail Expansion to participate, as Arcadion Raid series contain spoilers related to Dawntrail.Will this be a physical or digital zine?To keep things simple, we will be making this a digital zine where supporters can access the download after donating to our charity of choice and present receipt of donation.Will there be merch? If so, what kind?We are open to digital and printable merch! However, that is provided that a contributor would like to make some. Some things we can include in the zine folder are wallpapers, matching profile icons, photocards, emojis, discord stickers, coloring pages, foldable mini zines, etc.What charity are you thinking to support?Considering Arcadion’s themes, I was thinking of supporting organizations that provide resources for marginalized communities. Some organizations considered at this moment are Minnesota Freedom Fund or NDN Collective. However, other organizations may be considered if recommended in the interest check!How many contributors will be accepted for this zine?To celebrate the diversity and eccentricity of the fighters, we are thinking of accepting 35 artists and 5 writers. If there is enough interest and overwhelming amount of applications, we may increase the number of contributors :3Do I need past zine experience to participate?Past zine experience is not required but it would be a plus! applicants will be accepted based on their portfolio content.Will pieces be assigned or will I be free to pitch my own ideas?There’ll be no assignments! But we do like to approve ideas beforehand so that there wouldn’t be excessive overlap in the ideas presentedHow will contributors be compensated?Each contributor will be compensated with the digital zine and merch package.Can I submit multiple pages for the zine?Yes you may! However, we will only give 2 pages max for each artist, whether it is 2 separate pieces or one spread art that require 2 pages. Writers are given 10 pages maximum.Will there be guest artists?We plan to have 3-4 guest work, provided that they accept the request. Kindly write down your guest recommendations in the interest check!Can I include Warrior of Light into my pieces?For this project, we’d like to keep the focus on the Arcadion Fighters. It is fine to make vague references to Warrior of Light but our preference is to keep them on the side/ out of focus.Are spoilers allowed?Spoilers are allowed.Are Headcanons allowed?For this project, headcanons are welcome as long as it stays within the line of canon material. We understand that the fighters have rather surface-level backstories and FFXIV provided a sandbox for players to create their own character development, so we are excited to see what the community cooks up for the fighters! > . <Is Character Shipping allowed?Yes, Shipping is allowed however, we draw the hard line on no incest of blood related characters. Spicy scenes with canon minors are not allowed.Will this zine allow NSFW submissions?At this moment, we would like to keep it simple and make this SFW zine. However, we would consider spicy, non-explicit pieces on a case-to-case basis.Will this zine allow gore/horror pieces?Gore and horror is allowed but let’s keep it to a minimum.

Thank you for your interest in this project! While the aesthetic of social media posts, and cover is sci-fi and vibrant like the streets of Solution Nine, this project is open to the different interpretations and aesthetics seen in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. Be it a western feel of Shaaloani or a more cultural aesthetic of Tural, we welcome the ideas! Furthermore, all art styles are welcome to participate!Artistic Standards for Zine Submission
As far as illustrative art pieces go, Full body, Half body, and Portraits accepted forms of submission for this zine. Submitted pieces are expected to have some composition and detail. While full backgrounds are not required, blank white spaces as a background are not accepted. We are absolutely firm on no AI generated works and no plagiarism, if you are proven to be using generated works in any part of your process, you will be dismissed.Each writer will be allowed to have 10 pages max with a maximum of 5000 words for the writing submission. The passage will be single spaced in page formatting. Our writing mod will proofread for clarity, grammar, and word usage. No AI generated submissions allowed, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Grok, Claude etc. A random sentence may be googled to ensure you did not plagiarize.
-Artist Portfolio Requirements
Some things that are highly considered in the portfolio reviewing process are composition, detail, art style, and coloring style. Fanart of FFXIV related characters is not required but a plus. Please have your portfolio in a google drive folder and have it shared (otherwise we can’t see it). A mod will contact you should your link be broken or restricted. Any form of AI generated works will automatically disqualify for eligibility.🪩at least 5 fully-rendered works showcasing your full use of the canvas.
🪩 at least 5 works that showcases your artistic skills and technique (it can contain sketches, WIP, and studies)
🪩 please have works from the past 3 years to accurately showcase your current skills
🪩 Traditional artworks are accepted, however, with clear photos/scanning with no uneven lighting
🪩 if your portfolio contains nsfw or gore, please do mention it in the application
-Writer Portfolio Requirement
Some things that are highly considered in the portfolio reviewing process are writing style, word choice, clarity and proper grammar (unless it’s poetry). Please have your portfolio in a google drive folder and have it shared (otherwise we can’t see it). A mod will contact you should your link be broken or restricted. Any form of AI generated works will automatically disqualify for eligibility.🪩 at least 3 written works of 3000 words.
🪩 You may submit portfolio as links to your AO3 uploads or as a google doc
🪩 While an Arcadion related fanfic is not required, it would be a plus to discern your understanding of Dawntrail story and lore.
🪩 if your portfolio contains nsfw or gore, please do mention it in the application, with a brief CW in the google doc.
